Why Handcrafted Soap Bars?
Cove Kevana™ milk-based soap bars are real soaps! They are made through the cold-processed method. This method involves carefully measuring and mixing plant-based oils, sodium hydroxide (lye) and milk together, which causes a reactive process called saponification. Saponification creates soap. Soaps cure for 4 to 8 weeks before they are made available for sale. Cured soaps do not contain active traces of lye and are safe for use.
Why Plant Oils and Butters?
Plant oils are light-weight, cost-effective skin moisturizers. They are rich in essential fatty acids, vitamins and antioxidants that hydrate, nourish, soothe, and regenerate skin cells.
Milk is rich in nutrients that help to feed and hydrate dry, itchy and inflamed skin; reveal smooth, firm and radiant skin; and fight free radicals that prematurely age skin.
Some of the nutrients in milk include, but are not limited, vitamins A, B and D and lactic acid. Vitamin A aids in soothing dry skin and promotes cell turn over and regeneration. Vitamin B helps to heal and keep skin moisturized and even looking. Vitamin D promotes collagen production and skin elasticity, which help to keep skin looking youthful. Lactic acid reportedly has skin-lightening and skin-exfoliating properties, which help to even out skin's appearance and texture.
